Walmart is continuing its push into the streaming world with a new agreement with Paramount Global. Under the deal, Walmart is adding a Paramount+ Essential Plan subscription at no extra cost for Walmart+ members. The subscription service will remain at $98 a year, or $12.95 a month, and include the Paramount+ Essential Plan subscription with an added $59 value.
This is just the latest in a series of deals Walmart has made to expand its streaming offerings. The company has previously struck deals with MGM, Lionsgate, and Epix.
Walmart is hoping that its growing library of streaming content will help it compete against rivals like Amazon and Netflix. The company is also planning to launch its own streaming service later this year.
So far, it looks like Walmart's strategy is paying off. The retailer's shipping subscription service has been growing rapidly, and its streaming content library is now one of the largest in the industry.
