Gatorade is Finally Getting with the Times and Adding Caffeine
Gatorade is bringing caffeine to consumers with Fast Twitch, a new line of energy drinks for athletes looking to get a boost of energy before workouts. This move has been a long time coming, as many of Gatorade's competitors have been adding caffeine to their drinks for years. While Gatorade has always been one of the most popular sports drinks on the market, they have lagged in this regard. But better late than never, right?
Gatorade's decision to add caffeine to its drinks comes after years of research and development. They wanted to make sure that they could add caffeine in a way that would not compromise the taste or quality of their drinks. They also wanted to ensure that the amount of caffeine in their drinks would be safe for all consumers, including children and adolescents.
The new drink will be called Fast Twitch and has a ton of caffeine
Each 12-oz bottle of Fast Twitch is non-carbonated, sugar-free, and contains a mix of B vitamins, electrolytes, and 200 mg of caffeine. A bottle of Fast Twitch contains nearly as much caffeine as two 12-ounce cans of Red Bull. The energy drink line will offer a variety of flavors, including Cool Blue, Glacier Freeze, tropical mango, orange, strawberry watermelon, and strawberry lemonade.
Developed in consultation with sports performance experts and the National Football League, Fast Twitch is expected to have its consumer launch in early 2023. However, the drinks will be available on NFL sidelines during the 2022-23 season, giving players and coaches exclusive early access.
