We all know that checking expiration dates on food and throwing them out when they're past is a good idea - but what if we told you there were some foods that were safe to eat even after the date has passed? Today's hack gives us three items that are more than okay to keep: bread, peanut butter, and dry pasta.

Here's what you need to know about each item. Bread can last for two weeks when stored in the fridge. Peanut butter will last from five to eight months - as long as it’s been kept in the fridge. And dry pasta lasts up to two years after its expiration date!

So next time you’re wondering whether or not your food has gone bad, remember these best-to-know hacks - because who doesn't like holding on to their food for a little bit longer (and saving money while at it!)?
