What's more important? Looks or financial stability?

Financial stability considered a key trait in an ideal partner

There are a lot of things folks are interested in when looking for an ideal mate, like say looks or a sense of humor, but apparently money is a big deal as well. Now we’re not saying most folks are gold diggers, but a new survey finds that financial stability is pretty important to a lot of people when looking for a partner.

A poll by SunTrustBanks finds that 41% of people consider financial stability an important trait in a partner, which falls behind only personal values (78%) and personality (73%) as the most popular trait. It’s also way more important than physical characteristics like looks (21%) and physical fitness (21%). Other traits that folks find important when choosing a partner include education (31%) and similar hobbies (28%).

Interestingly, when it comes to actual finances, more people are likely to say they are the saver in the relationship. The survey finds that 33% percent of people believe they are the saver i while their partner is the spender, although 21% admit they are the spender and the other person is the saver.
