Steps to slow down the habit of overreacting!

Let’s be real, you’re the one-that just doesn’t know what it means to relax. When you miss the train by a hair, you just lose it.You start screaming at the top of your lungs, act like you’re pulling your hair out and hit us with the dramatic cries. SMH!

It’s time to tone it down a bit. Here’s how:

  • Know the difference between reacting and overreacting- Not all intense reactions are over the top. If you’re angry because someone stole your money, you’ve got every reason to be pissed. Just don’t go screaming in everyone’s faces because of it.
  • Identify your triggers- If you tend to overdue things when you’re stressed, take a little moment to take a deep breath and relax.
  • Listen to your personal control tower- Alright...so someone just spilled coffee on your new white shirt, but it wasn’t on purpose. As pissed as you may be, step back and force that “I want to punch the wall anger” to the “you can pay for my dry cleaning solution.” Freeze, analyze, and act.
  • Gain perspective on the past and the future- Think about that time you got so pissed and fell out in the middle of the street. You almost got hit by a car,so that wasn’t too smart.Don’t let it happen again.
  • Don’t bottle up your emotions- This means you’re just asking for things to blow up! Don’t do it
