A sneak peek into the hi-tech families!

While parents are supposed to be the ones teaching their children, when it comes to technology, the reverse is holding true for a lot of people.

A new survey of 1,000 parents finds:

  • 60% say they rely on their kids to help them with technology and gadgets.
  • 56% say it’s easier to talk about sex and puberty with their kids than the latest online trends.
  • Over 25% of parents have no idea what Tik Tok is, while of those who do, 48% have no idea how to use it.
  • And some parents are clueless about online lingo as well. While they know what LOL and BTW means, only 7% know that PAW means parents are watching.

And it seems kids are pretty aware that their parents are clueless when it comes to technology.

A separate survey of 1,000 kids ages six to 14 finds:

  • 40% of kids say they're more tech savvy than their parents.
  • 35% say their parents are clueless about the websites and apps they use.
  • 25% of kids six to eight go to their friends for tech advice, while 53% of 13 to 14 year olds do.
  • Another 25% would go to YouTube for help rather than their parents.
  • 60% of kids say they would go to their parents if they had better online knowledge.
