Ways to survive with your SO!!

There’s been a lot of emphasis on how to stay connected to people you can’t see right now but what about the ones you’re seeing almost too much of? People sharing a living space with roommates, kids, or significant others are facing a huge pressure test on their relationships. So here’s some tips on surviving forced togetherness.

  • Create separate working spaces.Would you share a desk and every meal with your favorite co-worker? Nope. Don’t do that with your partner either. If you have separate rooms, use them, if not, at least use separate chairs.
  • Reset twice a day. Isn’t it crazy just how quickly your house starts looking like you’re throwing an estate sale? Take some time to clean up everything so you are not living in a mess. It will do wonders for your anxiety and at least create the illusion you have more space.
  • Share your calendar.Tires of your roommates cracking breakfast beers in the background of your conference calls? Use a shared calendar to let everyone know when you’ve got some important stuff going on and reschedule the breakfast beers for lunch.
  • Cuddle as much as you want! Having your own time is super important but one of the perks of the work-from-home life is spontaneous cuddling. You won’t get the chance to do a mid-afternoon spoon session when your office opens up again, so take advantage now. And don’t forget to practice safe touching.Wash your hands.
