STUCK AT HOME: We’re All Having Weird Dreams
Google reports this month that searches for “Why am I having weird dreams lately” has quadrupled. You are clearly not alone if your nights have been invaded by strange creatures and vivid images and bizarre scenarios.
Sleep experts say there’s a scientific explanation: The longer and later we sleep, like most of us have while locked down, our dreams become warped. Dr. Kevin Gilliland said, (quote) “If you find yourself paddling a chocolate donut down a river of lava to get away from a giant bug, you’re probably doing just fine. It’s just a really crazy time.” (People)
The doctor suggests you’ll have a better night’s sleep by avoiding caffeine, alcohol, food and COVID-19 news shortly before bedtime.
There’s a technique to pre-program your dreams. You can choose your nighttime adventures by visualizing scenes you want to experience. Repeat as you drift off to sleep. You can manifest those dreams with a “pretty high success rate.”
