Chase Rice is catching some heat over his concert!

While not a lot of concerts are really happening right now because of social distancing guidelines,Chase Ricewas back on stage this weekend, and apparently few of the concert goers seemed very worried about getting sick.

Chase headlined a concert at the prison-turned venue Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary in Petros, Tennessee, and judging by photos nobody was wearing masks, and everyone was pretty packed in front of the stage, with few people practicing any sort of social distancing.

The venue later released a statement, noting, “All local requirements were abided by for the recent concert, and numerous precautions were taken,” adding, “we drastically reduced our maximum venue capacity of 10,000 to 4,000 maximum capacity (lower than the state’s advisement of 50%) with less than 1,000 in attendance Saturday night providing ample space in the outdoor lawn area for fans to spread out to their own comfort level."

  • They also say all guests had their temperature taken before entry, hand sanitizer was available and while they recommended physical distancing, they weren’t really able to enforce it. They insist they will take other precautions next time, and are looking into alternative measures for future shows.
  • And it seems Chase's fellow country stars may not be so down with him being back on stage. After photos of the concert were posted,Kelsea Ballerini shared her thoughts, writing, "Imagine being selfish enough to put thousands of people’s health at risk, not to mention the potential ripple effect, and play a NORMAL country concert right now," adding, "@ChaseRiceMusic, We all want (and need) to tour. We just care about our fans and their families enough to wait."
