Uplifting news may feel hard to come by, but fact is –it’s out there! Still, there’s something to be said for the fact that while many of us are stressed out...there are plenty of people who care to know – and better, help. In a world where there are plenty of selfISH people, there are plenty more who are selfLESS. In fact, new study has found people are worrying more about the health of everyone else more than their own.
Nearly half of the participants said the thing they’re worried about the most? Family members contracting the coronavirus. And just below that, 36% said they’re worried they may infect other people. Meanwhile, only 20% said they’re nervous about getting sick themselves.
The study also found the key to not worrying about COVID is being resilient. People that scored high on resiliency were 69% less likely to battle depression, and 65% less likely to suffer anxiety. How does one increase their resilience you may be asking?Great question. The answers, unfortunately, they’re working on it. Researcher Dr. Raquel Gur says, “We hope that soon we will be able to inform interventions that can enhance resilience.”So, until then, just keep on worrying about your fam.
