Community Blood Center of the Ozarks asks, “What Color do you Bleed?”

Challenge blood drive on between Arkansas and Florida football fans

November 4, 2020 –Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the sole supplier of blood and plasma to patients at 44 area healthcare facilities, has teamed up with LifeSouth Community Blood Center in Florida to present an exciting new challenge blood drive. The What Color Do You Bleed Challenge is a competition drive that pits Arkansas blood donors against donors in Florida in advance of their SEC football matchup on November 14.

The What Color Do You Bleed Challenge takes place November 9 – 13 at CBCO donor centers in Bentonville and Springdale, as well as several other blood drives across the region. Those include:

Monday, November 9

Bentonville– Word of Life, 808 SW 14th St. 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

Rogers– Rogers Activity Center, 315 W. Olive St. – 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Fayetteville– Living Faith Church, 1351 S. Morningside Drive – 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Tuesday, November 10

Bentonville– First Baptist Church, 200 Southwest A Street – 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Siloam Springs– New Life Church, 1611 Cheri Whitlock Dr. – 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Wednesday, November 11

Fayetteville– Physicians’ Specialty Hospital, 3873 N. Parkview Dr. – 8:00 am to 11:00 am

Fayetteville– Torchy’s Tacos, 1541 M.L.K. Jr. Blvd. – 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

Rogers– Torchy’s Tacos, 4950 W. Pauline Whitaker Pkwy. – 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

Fayetteville– Walton Arts Center, 495 W. Dickson – 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Friday, November 13

Prairie Grove- Prairie Grove Christian Church, 611 Wayne Villines Rd. – 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Fayetteville– Washington Regional Medical Center, 12 E. Appleby Rd. – 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Successful donors during the What Color Do You Bleed Challenge will receive a custom event T-shirt featuring your favorite team. Donors will also receive a coupon good for a free queso dip from Torchy’s Tacos.

“We’re delighted that this event has come together to help us to celebrate our favorite football team and the incredible positive impact that a blood donation can have on the entire community,” CBCO Arkansas Administrator Meredith Johnson said. “Arkansas fans are very supportive and very competitive. We look forward to the challenge of beating Florida blood donors and showing our true colors. Red, of course!”

Donors are strongly encouraged to make an appointment to give to maintain social distancing guidelines and improve donor flow. Masks are required at this drive. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you. Donors can schedule an appointment and find out more about the What Color Do You Bleed Challenge online atwww.cbco.org/whatcolor.
