Do you brush your teeth before or after your morning cup of coffee?

You probably don’t like the idea of having coffee after your teeth are brushed and minty clean, but it turns out you should actually brush your teeth before that first cup o’ Joe. Coffee can stain your teeth, and apparently brushing your teeth before you have coffee makes it harder for stains to adhere to your pearly whites, according to San Antoni-based dentist Christina Meiners. “If you keep it nice and clean, then there’s less for [coffee] to grab onto your teeth or adhere to,” Meiners said.

And here’s another reason to brush before you have coffee. Coffee is acidic, so brushing your teeth immediately after coffee weakens the enamel.
