Three Things Shaping Bobby & Amy’s Lives Right Now

Bobby and Amy shared the three biggest things going on in their lives, and the conversation quickly revealed just how much everyone has on their plate.

Amy started with the thing stressing her out most: an unexpected trip to California that suddenly landed on her calendar. And if travel wasn’t already enough, her sister is coming to town soon and it’s a big visit. She’ll be meeting Amy’s boyfriend for the very first time. They’ve FaceTimed before, but meeting in person carries much more weight for Amy. With her parents gone, her sister represents the entire family. Amy admitted there’s pressure there, even though she’s confident it’ll go well. Her sister’s husband has already met him and gave a thumbs-up, which helps ease her mind. The rest of the studio teased each other about meeting Amy’s boyfriend themselves, joking about past accidental run-ins with Lunchbox. Amy said it’s something she knows will eventually happen, but she hasn’t checked that box yet.

Her third update circled back to her relationship. She and her boyfriend recently met with a contractor at his house, and he asked for her opinion on renovations. Amy wondered what it meant, if he was thinking long-term or simply wanted another set of eyes. She admitted she might be overthinking it, but the team encouraged her not to read too much into it unless he directly mentions things like creating space for her kids.

Then it was Bobby’s turn. His first big thing: his wife’s pregnancy. He said it’s dominating their lives, with new changes and surprises every day. She’s “very pregnant,” amazed at all the strange and fascinating things happening to her body. They both continue to be in awe that a human is literally growing inside of her. His second update was his broken foot. He’s still on a scooter and unable to put any weight on it. The recovery is slow, involving weeks in a cast, weeks in a walking boot, and physical therapy. More than anything, he misses being able to move normally, joking about wanting to get back to dunking a basketball, even if just in pickup games. His third big thing was the upcoming holidays. He and his wife are trying to figure out how to split time between Arkansas and Oklahoma. Normally, it’s a lot of travel back and forth, but this year they have the “best excuse in the world” for making things easier: a pregnant wife and him a broken foot.

Before wrapping up, Bobby addressed something listeners had been messaging him about. An article recently listed him as a potential replacement for an ESPN personality, but he made it clear he has no involvement in any of it. He wasn’t contacted, isn’t in talks with ESPN, and has no plans to leave. It was simply a list someone made, flattering, he admitted, but not connected to anything he’s doing.
